Web poker has become globally acclaimed lately, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game shows. Its universal appeal, though, arcs back quite a bit further than its television scores. Over the years many variations on the first poker game have been developed, including a handful of games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely affiliated with twenty-one than old guard poker, in that the players bet against the casino rather than the other players. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is little concealment or other kinds of bamboozlement. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up before the croupier announcing "No more wagers." At that point, both you and the house and of course all of the different players are given 5 cards each. After you have seen your hand and the casino's first card, you need to in turn make a call wager or accede. The call wager's value is on same level to your beginning wager, indicating that the risks will have increased two fold. Bowing out means that your ante goes instantaneously to the casino. After the bet is the face off. If the casino does not have ace/king or better, your wager is returned, including a figure on par with the ante. If the casino has a hand with ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand defeats the dealer's hand. The casino pays cash even with your ante and fixed odds on your call bet. These odds are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • two to one for two pairs
  • three to one for 3 of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • 20-1 for a four of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
