Phil Ivey has been labeled as the greatest poker player on the globe by many of the top pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before his first birthday. His papa taught him one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wished to pickup whatever he could about the game. Phil would tell his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn't allow the detrimental feedback from other people kill his dream of being one of the strongest poker competitors in the world.

Phil began competing intently after getting a false ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his techniques at the casinos of Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for Phil were a teaching period and winning was not a regular outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP where he achieved two final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the final table he destroyed quite a few of the better known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil decided to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Vegas. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to hard work and an undying passion for the game of poker. Phil says that he's picking up skills every day and is very abashed about his accomplishments. Phil knows he makes errors every single session of poker and constantly aspires to get better.
