Stu is considered by many to the very best No Limit Texas hold em Poker gambler ever.

The three time World Poker Champ was born in New York in '53 and began playing poker prior to reaching his teens.

The young gambler started out wagering gin and at the age of 10 had won his primary gin rummy tournament, while on holiday with his mother and father. By the age of fourteen the little poker maestro had become a pro and stopped going to school.

In '54 Stu Ungar entered the record books by succeeding $10,000 in a gin tournament without sacrificing a single hand, a record which still appears in New York today.

The fast talking wiz kid has been compared, in poker terms, to sporting superstars like Joe Namath and Kobe Bryant. Stu had a real talent for playing poker but despite his achievements in Holdem poker, he preferred betting gin.

Stu once said that there may several day be a better No Limit Hold'em player than him but he couldn't see how anyone could ever be a far better gin gambler.

In '80 Stu Ungar was put on the world map as one of the greatest Hold'em Poker players in the earth when he was crowned World Poker Champion for the very first time. Astonishingly it was the 1st time he had entered the tournament.

The subsequent year he put aside any thoughts that it had been a fluke, by effectively defending his crown. And in 1997 Stu set the record by succeeding his 3rd World poker championship.

But this poker master also struggled with substance abuse and a year after succeeding his third title Stu past away in his hotel room. According to medical professionals, he had died from a cardiac event which was triggered by his lifestyle.

Stu had started out with absolutely nothing except his ability and expertise for the casino game which made this poker excellent a millionaire quite a few times over.
